We all have broken places and have lived “life is hard.” Not all of our hard things are the same; the sources of our broken are different. But they all leave us in the same place.
A wasteland where we languish with unfulfilled longings. Where we experience the dryness of dangling desires. The muck of bitterness and hurt. The harsh winds of loneliness, confusion and uncertainty. Feeling deep wounds from traversing the sharp rocks of anguish and anger. Fearing the darkness of night when the words “worthless, pointless, hopeless” howl around us.
One of our greatest longings is to experience unconditional love. The kind of love that doesn’t just stick with us in the hard. It flourishes and grows there. It covers us in, and leads us through, the hard. We long to wrap ourselves up in that love and find healing and peace and joy.
Well, there is good news for you.
There is Someone holding out His hand, whose very desire is to fill your longing for that unconditional love. That “I-love-you-no-matter-what, pride-filled, lavish, in-your-corner, fighting-for-you, I’ll-never-let-you-down, I’ve-got-you-girl” kind of love. He doesn’t just fill our desire for unconditional love. He IS love.
My life is centered on relationships. First with my Abba Father. Then my family and friends. I am a crazy-about-my-family wife, mom of four and their spouses, and nana to seven. My large extended family is an explosion of joy, tension and color as I am daughter to my precious 90-ish mama, sister to eight crazy but beloved siblings, and aunt to their precious growing families. I am blessed with the friendships of a fountain full of fabulous women, both near and far. Despite the seemingly constant goings-on with “my people”, my soul craves quiet and solitude. Thus I carve out time for the Word and prayer, reading, quilting, and activity in the great outdoors.
I am also a woman who has lived and faced the hard of life on numerous fronts, and have known His unconditional love and faithful, healing presence in each circumstance.
Compassionate to your struggles, I yearn to encourage you with truths, sprinkled with personal stories and experiences; to explore what the Scriptures say about our God who offers Himself and His love so freely and completely; and, to provide a platform to share the courageous stories of other women and how God walked with them in their hard.
From the depths of my heart, I want you to know in the depths of yours that:
He sees you. He loves you.
He wants to heal you and fill your every longing…
with Himself.
