“Because she loves me, says the Lord,
I will rescue her; I will protect her,
For she acknowledges my name.
She will call upon me, and I will answer her;
I will be with her in trouble,
I will deliver her and honor her.
With long life I will satisfy her
And show her my salvation.”
Today we delve into the second aspect of these verses from Psalm 91:14-16. In
3-actions-that-stir-gods-response, we focused on our side of the
“if we do _____ , God will do ____ ”.
Now we concentrate on God’s promised responses to our actions of loving, knowing and calling out to Him.
If you reside in a climate where November is spelled C-H-I-L-L-Y, you might want to snuggle up to a reliable heat source, because as these promises sink into your soul, they’re going to knock your socks off.
God states eight promises so simply, we might miss they are chock full of power and they are personal. Have you ever skipped stones across the tranquil face of a pond? Likewise, we can bounce across the surface of God’s promises without plunging into the vast depths of hope and joy beneath the surface.
God has declared these dynamic words of promise over you:
His response to a daughter’s desperate, passionate love is to rescue her. Whether physical or spiritual, He will preserve her from loss or danger. He will provide a way of escape.
To the one who studies to know His character and nature, He offers protection, raising her to a high, secure place; shielding her from danger, injury and destruction.
As a woman faithfully calls on Him, God vows to answer. He will be with the one oppressed or facing adversity. He will deliver and save her from ruin or harm.
It is humbling to know that the “God above all other gods” (Psalm 135:5) and deserving of all honor and glory (Revelation 4:11), will turn and exalt His daughter with honor and reward. A stunning promise.
His assurances count on as He pledges to satisfy her with a full life, echoing Psalm 23:6, “surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life.” And He will cause us to experience and see salvation. Deliverance. Victory.
Let’s pause and consider this lengthy, hard-to-absorb list. God says, if you will truly love and trust Me…
I will rescue you.
I will protect you.
I will answer you.
I will be with you.
I will deliver you.
I will honor you.
I will satisfy you with a long life.
I will show you My salvation.
Now. Personalize those promises. Put your name at the end of each one. “I will rescue you, Reva.” Go ahead. Say them out loud if you dare. Take your time. I’ll wait for you while you read through each of your Abba Father’s promises He speaks to YOU, His cherished daughter.
Did the realization of what He will do sink in? Are your socks still on? Two of these declarations spoken aloud and I am melting into tears at the graciousness of our Heavenly Father. Sisters, we have an arsenal full of powerful, personal, promises that God is offering to us. Who wants to be rescued? Anybody wanting protection and answers to prayer? Any of my sisters in Christ longing for deliverance, satisfaction or salvation?
At best, man’s promises fill us with shaky hope and slight possibility. God’s promises, however, fill us with absolute certainty and security. His promises help to display the depth, width and height of His love for us. And He is able and faithful to fulfill His promises (Psalm 145:13b). Every. Single. One. Are we willing to be faithful to Him by daily loving Him, knowing Him, and calling upon Him?
As God fulfills His promises to us, we will arise victorious over every hard we face in life.
